Dental impressions were once a dreaded necessity to identify abnormalities and problem areas. Now, with the intraoral scanner, patients can expect much quicker appointments, minimal discomfort and a better understanding of treatment options.
This intraoral scanner drastically minimizes discomfort and time associated with creating dental impressions. A process usually carried out with trays of silicone putty, will now be replaced with a small, handheld device that creates 2D and 3D images of patients’ teeth. This tool allows dentists to easily maneuver within a patient’s mouth, providing a clear view of difficult-to-reach problem areas.
Silicone putty, often referred to as “goop,” was long viewed as a necessary evil in quality dental care. With Progressive Dental’s new intraoral scanner, a quick scan of an individual’s mouth provides full color, high-resolution images. These clear, targeted images allow your dentist to view potential issues without causing the patient discomfort.
Once the scan is complete, dentists have access to images featuring unprecedented detail, within seconds. These clear 3D digital impressions allow Progressive Dental to explain treatment options and suggestions in an easy-to-view and understandable way.
