Dental Pain Management for Temporary Relief
Over-the-counter pain relievers like Ibuprofen (Advil) and Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can help manage pain and reduce inflammation. We recommend alternating between the two for optimal relief:
- Start with 600mg of Ibuprofen
- After 3 hours, take 650mg of Acetaminophen
- After 4 hours, take 600mg of Ibuprofen
- Repeat steps 1-3 as necessary.
*Do not take it if you are allergic to any Ibuprofen, aspirin or Tylenol products.
*Do not combine with any products over the counter that may contain acetaminophen.
*Maximum daily dose for Tylenol is 3250mg.
*Maximum daily dose for ibuprofen is 2400mg.
Note: This pain management regimen is intended for temporary relief only and should not replace professional dental treatment or prescribed medications, including antibiotics. Always follow your dentist’s instructions and contact them if you have any concerns about your pain or recovery process.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call the office.
At Progressive Dental, PLLC, we offer child care for your child/children (under the age of 13) to make it more convenient for you while you’re at your dental appointment. We have a dedicated child care room with toys and other activities to keep your kids busy at all five locations. There is no additional fee for this service; we just ask that you call ahead so that we will be sure to have one of our employees available during your appointment. This service is available between the hours of 7am and 5pm.
If it is your very first appointment with our office, we ask that full payment be made at the time of service. If you have dental insurance, we will bill your insurance as a courtesy and if we receive payment from the insurance company, you will have a credit on your account, which can be applied to future dental work or be refunded to you. Once an insurance transaction has occurred, and your dental benefit provider pays our office directly, then only your co-payment is expected at future appointments.
If you do not have dental insurance, we provide financing options through Wells Fargo, Care Credit, and our Smile Plan. If you have any questions about payment before your appointment, feel free to contact us.
You can save time at check-in by printing and completing the appropriate forms in advance. Simply bring the completed forms to our office and we’ll process them for you.
