Each year, Progressive Dental awards a scholarship to a deserving high school senior who is pursuing a college education. In 2009, Ashley Verdon received the $500 award because of her academic excellence and an interest in her community. We were so proud to receive this update from her… Congratulations on your achievements Ashley!!
“I received the Progressive Dental Community Scholarship back in 2009 when I graduated from Maine-Endwell High School. I was able to put it towards various college expenses that come along with moving away from home. I went on to receive my Bachelor of Science in Biology at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY where I graduated in 2012. Currently, I am living in Philadelphia as a 3rd year optometry student at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. I will soon be leaving the area to begin a 12 month externship at various optometric practices across the United States. I am very thankful for the generous scholarship I received from Progressive Dental and I have continued to uphold its values of community service and academic excellence throughout my academic career.”
Scholarship applications are reviewed in April of each year, and awarded in May. Any senior is welcome to apply, please visit our Community Outreach page for more information.
